In 2011, True North Community Church, a fast-growing non-denominational church on Long Island, moved into a vacant industrial building, though only developing and occupying one-third of their available area at first. Attendance continued to grow, and in 2015 The Make Space capital campaign was launched to raise funds for the development of the remaining area.
The goal for this campaign was to not only literally make space for attendees, but to also reassure them that the heart of a quirky, small local church would not change during a substantial transformation period. Thus, the identity has a rustic, handmade feel which is frequently juxtaposed with open, calming images from nature.
